Lions Clubs International

The World’s Largest Service Club Organization

Our 50,000 clubs and 1.4 million members make us the world’s largest service club organization. We’re also one of the most effective. Our members do whatever is needed to help their local communities. Everywhere we work, we make friends. With children who need eyeglasses, with seniors who don’t have enough to eat and with people we may never meet.

When it comes to meeting challenges, our response is simple: We serve.

In over 200 countries, in hospitals and senior centers, in regions battered by natural disaster, in schools and eyeglass recycling centers, Lions are doing community volunteer work, helping, leading, planning and supporting. Because we’re local, we can serve the unique needs of the communities we live in. And because we’re global, we can address challenges that go beyond borders.

Sight Programs
Ever since Helen Keller inspired us to champion the cause in 1925, we’ve served and advocated for the blind and visually impaired. Nearly a century later, this long-standing mission continues unhindered. We want everyone to see a better tomorrow.

Hunger Programs
We serve to improve human flourishing. We see how the global hunger and nutrition crisis bears upon our local communities, and believe true community improvement depends on the thriving of its members. Lions and Leos serve to improve human flourishing, and we see how the global hunger and nutrition crisis bears upon our local communities. We believe community improvement depends on the thriving of its members.

Diabetes
An estimated 463 million adults across the world are living with diabetes, and its prevalence is increasing rapidly. By 2045, the number is expected to reach 700 million. Diabetes is a global epidemic that touches every corner of the globe. Lions Clubs International and LCIF are dedicated to empowering Lions and Leos around the world to fight diabetes by serving their communities one by one.

Childhood Cancer
No child deserves cancer. Yet lymphomas, leukemias, and other forms of the disease common in children are the stark reality for many youth – and their families. There is both heartache and hope. Lions and LEOs, with the help of Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF), provide support for the needs of children and families affected by childhood cancer by through impactful service activities.

Youth Volunteer Opportunities
We empower the next generation. Whether it’s providing youth volunteer opportunities and leadership experiences in a Leo club or sharing a message of peace through our Peace Poster contest, our youth programs invest in the future by reaching out to young people.

Community and Environment Programs
We serve local communities – and protect the planet. From performing hands-on community work and service projects to providing emergency assistance, our community and environment programs improve our communities – and protect the environment.

Disaster Relief
We are among the first to respond when disaster strikes. Our Disaster Preparedness and Relief Programs enable Lions to help local communities – and contribute to Lions relief efforts in other countries – in the event of a natural, man-made or healthcare emergency.
