The Bluebonnet Fest is one of La Vernia and Wilson County’s most anticipated festival and live music events. Each year the La Vernia Lions Club sponsors the event starting with the Miss La Vernia Scholarship Pageant and ending with the Festival held at the City Park. The newly crowned Miss La Vernia and her Court lead a parade, which includes floats from local and surrounding area businesses, youth organizations and clubs. At the festival, the kids can enjoy a carnival, a free petting zoo and free pony rides. There will be arts & crafts vendors, lots of festival foods, a chili cook-off, a live auction, a raffle and even a Wild West Show.
